Incognito Is Not an Invisibility Cloak: What It Protects on a Shared Computer
Private browsing is useful for browser history on the device; it does not provide anonymity on the Internet. Do account, download and session control separately on the common computer.

Returning a browser window to dark doesn't make you invisible from the rest of the Internet. Private or private navigation mode is mainly intended to limit browser tracks that remain on the device. If you have logged into your account, the site will link you to your account, the file you downloaded is located on the computer, and the network's own records are separate topics.
Separate anonymity with local privacy
Mozilla's statementIt emphasizes that private browsing limits the retention of normal browser history; it does not provide stealth, protection from malware, or complete anonymity from the Internet service provider. It should not be assumed that bookmarks created in special mode will also disappear spontaneously.
You can set this distinction with a simple question: What am I trying to protect, from whom? With the person who will use the same computer later not seeing your browser history, it is different goals that the service you are visiting does not recognize your account. Don't expect a single button to meet all goals.
Process as narrowly as possible on the common computer
If you have access to your own device, choose to do sensitive operations from there. If you need to use a common computer, just complete the necessary work. Do not accept the offer to save passwords; do not install unnecessary browser plugins and do not link your account to that computer's permanent profile.
For example, consider the email you opened to print a document. Closing the only document window when it was finished is not enough control. You need to look separately to see if your email session remains open and the file is saved in the Downloads folder.
Remember file and account traces
The document you download is a different file from the browser history. Evaluate also copies created by processes such as printing, exporting, or screenshots. There is no guarantee of full deletion or no trace of records held under the management of the common device. The safest decision for sensitive work is sometimes not to process on that device.
Log out of the account normally and close all private navigation windows. Check to see if there is a session left open in another tab. If there is any doubt, review the service's session and device management, which can be accessed from your own account; get support information from the official source.
Use special mode for the right job
Private browsing can be useful to try the appearance of a page without logging in on your own computer or doing a short search without adding it to the local past. But don't interpret the results as 'no one can follow me'.
The safety habit is not to press any more privacy icons, but to know what the tool does and doesn't do. When you control the layers of accounts, devices, networks, and files separately, you move more consciously without relying on a single setting too much.
